Welcome to the Web Classroom!

Are you a student looking for an alternative to sitting in a classroom to learn? Can you concentrate better, and retain more information, by studying in private? Are you a parent who would like to homeschool your child, but you do not have the skills to do this? These are some of the advantages to using a virtual learning environment. Our long term goal is to have the Web Classroom meet all your needs.

The Web Classroom was created using Moodle, a course management system (CMS). CMS software packages, and Moodle specifically, are designed to help educators create quality online courses. Such e-learning systems are sometimes also called Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environments (VLE). One of the main advantages of Moodle over other systems is a strong grounding in social constructionist pedagogy.

Moodle was originally designed by Martin Dougiamas and is distributed under the GNU General Public License. It is now an Open Source project with many developers world-wide.

So how do you become a Web Classroom student? It's a very easy 4 step process:

  1. Create an account.
  2. Login
  3. Select a course from the ($) options in the Courses Block.
  4. Make your payment through PayPal and you're in!

That's all there is to it. Certain courses have textbook requirements, so you will have to pay close attention to the course descriptions. All texts can be purchased through our Webstore at http://store.mrdconsulting.com.

Sincerely,

Marc R. Dastous
